You can also record MIDI from Maschine directly into a DAW.You can route separate audio outputs to multi-track record directly into a DAW.You can export audio of any loop range or entire scene range as separate sounds/groups/stereo master and then drag those WAVs into any DAW.You can just drag and drop directly each group from Maschine (as a plugin or in standalone mode) as audio or MIDI into any DAW.In actuality, Maschine is flexible enough that you have several different options for integrating with DAWs. Has routing Maschine into Cubase gotten any more intuitive in the past year? I haven't touched my Maschine MK2 in a while because manually setting up all the midi every time is the exact opposite of good workflowYou do know that you don't have to use Maschine that way just to work with Cubase, right? Seems like most of the people I see complaining about integrating Maschine with other DAWs have the mistaken notion that it can only work with a particular way they heard about. The sampler side of it would clearly be useful if Battery lacks this.

I just think I would get much more utility out of Komplete which is of a comparable price and the crossgrade discount isn't brilliant and would require me to keep Maschine forever in order to use the crossgrade licence.

I barely use the hardware except for browsing samples and the only other thing I would miss are the drum synths which are excellent. I've had Maschine for nearly 6months and used it mostly within Cubase but I still haven't found a way to use it that I'm happy with. I'm not here to bash Maschine, it can be really good but I guess I'm more in to sound design and building from the bottom up and things like layering samples and editing just feels really clunky. Having said that I'm not really impressed with the expansions as they are £44 for essentially a bunch of presets and a few more samples (I only own Grey Forge though).

To be fair the whole Maschine software package, including the samples, is really good.

In short, should I stick with GAse4 which I already have bundled with Cubase and use Battery when I buy Komplete? Or is the full version of GA4 worth buying to use alongside/instead of Battery 4? My initial impressions of GAse4 have been really positive and I wish I started to learn it sooner but as I don't have much time to get stuck into it before the offer ends I would really appreciate some opinions. The main reason for this post is that when I sell Maschine I will lose other NI vsts that I really like (monarch and Massive) so I am planning to buy Komplete (I may try and wait a few months in the hope Komplete 11 will be released and it will include Reaktor 6) and as Komplete has Battery 4 I was thinking that it could make GA4 redundant. GA4 is on offer for this weekend only and was wondering if it would be worth upgrading my se4 to the full product? I've been having a play with Groove Agent se4 today and find it much more useful and better suited to my needs. I like it in standalone but find it too cumbersome as a plugin in Cubase 8. I've decided that I'm going to sell my Maschine.
